Loft refers to the fluffiness of a down product, and is caused by air pockets in the down.
Fill Power
Fill power is the measure of loft of a down product. It is measured in cubic inches per ounce (in³/oz). The following quality grades are generally accepted for fill power:
- 400-500 in³/oz: Medium Quality
- 500-550 in³/oz: Good Quality
- 550-750 in³/oz: Very Good Quality
- Greater than 750 in³/oz: Excellent Quality
